Job title: Part 2 Qualified Architectural Assistant

Overall purpose of the job:
To assist the Project Directors and Senior Staff in the successful planning and implementation of the full range of RIBA work stages within a busy design orientated architecture practice. The position will seek to provide the experience to allow the successful applicant undertake RIBA Part 3 examination.
Essential experience: minimum 12 months post Part 2 office experience in architectural practice
Key activities:
In conjunction with senior staff management, responsible for planning and implementing all aspects of client projects including briefing, feasibility studies, concept design, design development, detail design, tender information, site visits, site information, etc.
Diligent delivery of all of the tasks as briefed and directed by the senior staff members to the professional standards required by the practice.
By being flexible and innovative, ensure that issues and problems are resolved to the clients satisfaction and communicated to senior management as appropriate.
Ability to work independently and as part of a project team for the successful implementation of all aspects of projects
Clear communication both verbal and written with Clients, Consultants, Contractors, etc.
Involvement in running projects on site under supervision of project architect.
Pro-active in building the company’s profile and network, eg. Through the production of publications, and submission for awards and competitions
Investigating architecture competitions with potential for practice submission.
Assisting in development of architectural competition entries RIBA Stages A to C.
Assist in the production of project bid documentation and PQQs.
Develop marketing literature and brochures.
Production of CGI images.
Photograph completed projects for marketing purposes (portfolio essential)
Carry out administration tasks in support of the Office Manager and ensure the team’s ‘leave of absences’ are covered as required
Make effective use of Practice IT Systems for the delivery of projects eg Photoshop, InDesign, Sketch Up, Autocad, 3D Studio Max, Vray, Adobe Design Suite, Apple and Microsoft Office packages, etc.
